Summer riding isn't for the weak. But with good prep, you can keep your cool, stay safe, and get those miles in! Just ahead:

πŸ₯΅ Hacks for Riding in the Heat

πŸ—ž MSF Shares Life-Saving Research

😬 Summertime Maintenance Tips

🐊 Up Next for NOLA Riding

It's hot, but safety can be cool πŸ₯΅

β€’ Mesh jackets > T-shirts! Trust us: heat burns a lot more when paired with hot asphalt + road rash. Ask us for our favorite recommendations!

β€’ Hydration starts the day before your ride! Electrolytes are your friend!

β€’ Take a break! Find cool (figuratively and literally) spots along your route to check and chill out 😎

Hot weather can be dangerous when you're not paying attention.
Some signs of heat exhaustion include dizziness, headache, nausea, suddenly feeling too cold, change in heart rate. These symptoms signal that your body has tried to push through and needs you to takeaction.

MSF announces life-saving discovery πŸ—ž

Heat stress can impactΒ reaction time similarly to drinking alcohol.

Research has shown correlation between raised body temperature and impaired cognitive function in motorcyclists, dangerously impacting reaction times. By staying cool, you not only preserve your comfort and physical safety, but you are proactive in your performance and maintaining safe roads for others.

Summer miles can be brutal on your bike 😬

Don't burn out on your T-CLOCS routine:

βœ”οΈŽ Check tire pressure. Temperature changes PSI faster than you think!

βœ”οΈŽ Inspect chain tension and lubrication.

βœ”οΈŽ Be sure fluids are topped off (and clean!), especially coolant.

Do you really want to beΒ that rider on the side of the road in 100ΒΊ + 100% humidity...?
